Welcome to the Lafayette Book Store Online

Twice Voted the East Bay's Best Indie Bookstore

If you arrived here looking for Bonanza Street Books, they unfortunately have closed their doors. As they were friends of ours and we're the nearest independent bookstore, they have referred their website to us. Come by the store in Lafayette or call us at 925-284-1233 and let us know how we can be of service.

For the rest of you, whether you come to us from our brick-and-mortar bookstore in Lafayette, California, or from one of our many special event bookstores out in the world, we're glad you're here!

Shopping the Lafayette Book Store has never been easier. Buy your books online now and have your purchase shipped directly to your home or office, or if you prefer you can arrange for store pickup.

As always, we're real people behind the books so give us a call or an email if you have any questions or concerns.

Great Values in our Used Bookstore

There is no greater entertainment value than a used book, and no more so than at the Lafayette Book Store! All of our children's books are just $1, and we have hundreds of hardcover bestsellers for $1 as well. Not to mention the large selection of used fiction and nonfiction listed at half price or less, handpicked for quality and condition.

To get even more value for your money, bring in your used books for trade. We offer used book credit and will consider any book in good condition, no matter how esoteric. We trade books anytime we're open, so make room for new books by finding a new home for your old books at the Lafayette Book Store.

Our Community Partner Bookstores

We're proud of our many community partnerships with non-profit groups, authors, and publishers. Part of our commitment is to provide them with a custom, online bookstore featuring a hand-picked selection of titles. Some of these bookstores are environmental, some educational, some just for fun.
